Talking Therapies

What I do:

I show highly sensitive women who have lost their identity to their career or family, how to rediscover who they really are and live the life of their dreams by protecting their energy and prioritizing themselves without guilt.

Highly Sensitive People and Empaths have the tendency to absorb other people’s emotions and try to fix everyone’s problems, to the point they forget about their own needs and aspirations.

As an Empath, I have a deep understanding of how challenging it can feel to prioritize yourself over others. When you feel obligated to do certain things, what people want you to do, you lose track of what you truly want and you start experiencing anxiety.  The main feature of highly sensitive people and Empaths is their intuition and when they’re feeling stressed or anxious, their intuition gets crushed. Without intuition it feels like being lost because you no longer have a compass to navigate through life.

I know, because I was there myself just a few years ago. But then I discovered coaching and its powerful force which propelled me to where I’m now.  Highly sensitive people feel different from others, they feel like outsiders and then they start to think there must be something wrong with them. But it’s OK to be different!

The problem is that if you don’t fully believe in yourself and in your abilities you can’t get where you want to be. Your lack of self-belief is preventing you from living your best life. In fact it’s even stopping you in your tracks and it’s not allowing you to think outside the box you put yourself in.

Let me help you. This will be a two fold journey:

Firstly, if you can dream it, you can achieve it, but you have to believe in yourself and take action. Confidence will come by doing things and seeing them through. I will support you every step of the way and I will coach you to reach that big dream, whichever it may be for you, because I’ll help you break it down into small achievable steps.

Secondly, you’ll have to go beyond your limits, those limits you created yourself, you inherited from your parents or society planted in your head. These self-limiting beliefs are what keep you stuck. You can free yourself from these boundaries and live a truly fulfilling life. Nothing happens in the comfort zone and uncovering your true potential is not as scary as it may seem. It can actually be fun, and it’ll be healing.  When you know who you are, you can be who you want to be.

What you can expect:

Each session will focus on you and what you want to achieve. You’ll uncover which fears and limiting beliefs are holding you back from living the life you dream of. You’ll discover your core values and how to live in alignment with your beliefs, so you can attract everything you desire into your life with ease. You’ll get clarity and focus, so you can make the best decisions for yourself with confidence. You’ll find your worth and the courage to go after what you want without second guessing yourself all the time. You’ll break through your own blocks and find fulfilment by taking action, one step at a time. You’ll stop listening to what people tell you should do, and you’ll trust your intuition. You’ll have healthier barriers with people and you’ll become your own best friend.

What is Coaching?

Coaching is a collaborative partnership where the client is the expert in their life and the coach is the expert in the coaching techniques. In coaching, the client will explore their own issues and options, the focus of the sessions is to take the client from where they are now to where they want to be. The coach asks powerful questions to enable the client to find their own solution to the issue they are facing.

What is an Empath?

An Empath is a highly sensitive person (HSP) with a so-called “hyperactive mirror neuron system”, this is why they are high on the empathy scale. Empaths feel everything deeply and so they often get overwhelmed by too much stimulation like loud noises, strong lights or crowded places. While growing up they were often labelled as “over sensitive”, “too dramatic” or even “weak”. If they aren’t self-aware, they’ll absorb other people’s emotions into their bodies, and this can really affect their wellbeing.

Testimonial:

“Before working with Francesca, I was thinking too far ahead into the future instead of staying in the NOW.  The “what ifs” and the planning for multiple eventualities that I didn’t even know would happen got to be overwhelming.  As an HSP I tend to be hypervigilant and overthinking to make sure that everything goes well for everyone.  Within just a few weeks of being coached by Francesca, I learned to slow down and pay attention to my thoughts. Now I ask myself, “Is this the reality of the situation NOW or are you planning for a possibility?” When it’s the latter, I take a deep breath and let it go, bringing my focus back to the tasks currently and truly at hand.

I’m so much less stressed and I’m even sleeping better as I’m not waking up with so many racing thoughts. Working with Francesca has helped me to channel my energy where it belongs.  In the daytime and most importantly, in the present – allowing me to slow down, breathe, take one thing at a time, and sleep so much better at night. If you’re wondering if Francesca is worth working with, stop wondering and make an appointment! Francesca is kind, compassionate, highly skilled, and attentive. I can say that as a coach, Francesca is in the major leagues!” Kim L. USA

 Ayurveda

Ayurveda is a holistic healing system that originated from the Indian sub–continent over 5000 years ago. This system of healing restores balance to the body and mind, while healing and preventing disease through food, herb, cleansing and lifestyle advice. Ayurveda recognises we each have a specific mind-body type and explains how to live in balance with this – the foundation for good health. Conditions Ayurveda can help with include Chronic Diseases, Digestive Complaints, Chronic Inflammation, Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Fear, Fatigue, Insomnia, Anger/irritability, Psoriasis, Burnout, Menopause, Weight Loss/Gain, Water Retention, Lethargy, Respiratory Conditions, Excess Mucus, Lymphatic Congestion.

Training

I trained with the American Institute of Vedic studies and am a member of the Ayurvedic Professionals Association.

What you can expect from a consultation

During the 60 minute consultation we will take a deep dive into your health and personal history. I will ask a number of questions in relation to your diet, lifestyle and life experiences, and carry out tongue and nail diagnosis. This in-depth consultation will allow me to discover your constitution (prakriti), and whether you currently have any imbalances (vikriti) – the ground for ill health. Shortly after the consultation I will send you a personal Ayurvedic healthcare plan which includes nutritional and lifestyle advice, daily and seasonal routines, cleansing advice, appropriate Ayurvedic therapies that can be carried out at home, herbal and aroma suggestions.

What you can expect from an Ayurvedic coaching session

I offer 30 minute and 60 minute Ayurvedic coaching sessions, and recommend a 30 minute one 2-3 weeks after your initial consultation, to check in on how things are going. The 60 minute sessions are designed to support you to implement your plan, and support anyone with Ayurvedic advice. I also draw on my experience of helping people to change habits quickly through my work as a clinical Hypnotherapist.

Clinical Hypnotherapy

As a clinical Hypnotherapist I offer sessions in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, which is a modern psychotherapeutic approach that combines Solution Focused Brief Therapy with light trance work. In Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, therapists look at what the client wants to achieve (the solution) rather than at whatever prompted them to seek help (the problem). This is a powerful modern technique that enables positive change quickly and effectively – changes are usually seen within 8-12 weeks. Conditions helped include Anxiety, Stress, Depression, Low Self-Esteem, Insomnia, Anger, IBS, OCD, PTSD, Exam Stress, Performance Enhancement.

Sessions

Through deep relaxation and light trance we bring both the conscious mind and sub-conscious mind into balance and focus them on how you want things to be, creating the conditions within the mind to support positive change.

We begin with the initial consultation where you can discuss the changes you would like to make; learn the way the brain works; discover how we experience emotions in the way that we do and how these can affect us and our habits, along with what we can do to change these; and learn what light  trance is, that it is a very normal and natural state. At the end of the initial consultation if you decide you would like to continue, you will leave with a link to a relaxation recording to listen to in between sessions.

For stress and digestive issues Ayurveda combined with Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a powerful combination.

Testimonials

I hadn’t been sleeping due to anxiety. I’m now experiencing good quality sleep, a lowering of anxiety, a positive outlook and a supportive mental attitude. I am so happy with the outcomes after years of struggling it has been life changing.

When I came to see Lucy my digestion was not good and I was suffering from panic attacks. In just a few weeks I felt grounded and the pain was gone. I moved forward in all areas of my life. I now sleep better and look forward with optimism and brightness.”

Lucy is nurturing in such a grounded and honest way. It’s such a part of her being to be empathetic and compassionate and these abilities shine through her sessions.”

After I recently received some concerning test results related to a cancer I live with for quite some years Lucy jumped in to be my health coach to support me in boosting my immunity and energy. Through her personal, practical and confident way of explaining and applying her knowledge, by cooking the most delicious and beautiful meals, Lucy makes the Ayurvedic way of living very accessible and attractive. Working together with Lucy in planning my healthy meals and preparing food made the learning fun and easy. I can’t recommend Lucy enough to anyone who likes to feel more balanced and in charge of how they feel in their own body. She is a true treasure of wisdom that can benefit so many.

“I came to see Lucy for a number of months to heal some deep rooted things linked to grief, anxiety and insomnia. My sleep and mood improved vastly. I would definitely recommend Lucy for her calm, compassionate and effective work.”
