Deep Tissue Massage (inc. mobilisation)

Deep Tissue Massage aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the fibres of the muscles, tendons and fascia. A deep-tissue massage helps loosen muscle tissues, release toxins from muscles and get blood and oxygen circulating properly.

I have been working as a Complementary Therapist for 8 years. Since I was a child I have always felt a deep infinity with nature which sparked my interest in Holistic Therapies. I look to natural forms of healing as way of treating mind, body and spirit , which with all the day to day stresses of modern life can become out of balance, creating tension and illness , both physically and mentally in ourselves.
I am trained in a wide range of therapies such as Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Deep Tissue Massage, Indian Head Massage, Hot Stone Massage and  Seated Acupressure as well as Spa treatments such as Scrubs , Body Wraps and Facials.
Many of these therapies originated in the Far East thousands of years ago and their roots can be found in Ayurvedic and  Chinese traditions. They treat the person as a whole rather than the isolated symptoms. Massage and reflexology not only relax the body and mind, but boost the immune system, release natural endorphins that can combat depression and anxiety, aid lymphatic drainage and blood circulation, tone the muscles, and release blockages in the energy channels  resulting in increased vitality and energy.
I believe the more we listen to our body’s messages the more it responds with increased health and vitality. We all deserve a bit of time out for ourselves to relax, switch off and recuperate in an environment where we can feel tranquil and safe. Holistic Therapies are to me a stepping stone on the pathway to self love, self awareness and spiritual development, where the needs of our body , mind and spirit are nurtured as a whole.

Anna’s passion for complementary therapies started when she received a short reflexology session, which helped to release pain that she had. She decided to study Reflexology to be in the position to support others. She qualified as a Reflexologist in 2008 and went on to gain her Diploma in Holistic Massage two years later.

She has been constantly upgrading her knowledge and skills by attending reflexology, massage and healing workshops.

She has been supporting different types of people, specializing in dealing with stress and stress related conditions and also supporting people that face emotional challenges. I’m passionate about many forms of alternative health and complementary medicine, but holistic massage therapy is my chosen path of expertise. I started out on a completely different path in life, studying politics and economics up to Master’s level at the London School of Economics. After spending a few years working for some well-known international organisations, I took the decision to embark on a career change to pursue my passions of holistic healing and organic living.

After gaining some experience in these areas during my travels around the world, I returned home and studied to MTI level 4 (CertHE) in Holistic Massage Therapy under a master Osteopath and Massage Therapist. This course also included a solid grounding in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology, so if you suffer from a chronic musculoskeletal or immune disorder, I’ll approach your needs as an individual. However, should you simply need a relaxing massage, you will be in good hands too!

Giacomo was born and grew up in the North-East of Italy. He moved to UK in 2014 to begin his studies in Herbal Medicine. He graduated in Herbal Medicine BSc(Hons) at the University of Lincoln in 2017 and then moved Bristol to attain a diploma in Holistic massage at the Bristol College of Massage and Bodywork in 2018.
In September 2019 he designed a unique way to combine Herbal Medicine and Bodywork which he called Naturopathic Massage Therapy (NMT). NMT focuses on treating musculoskeletal and neurological conditions holistically using manual therapy, nutritional/ lifestyle advice and medicinal herbs as therapeutic tools.
In his bodywork curriculum, Giacomo has been working with a large variety of ailments varying from trauma/tissue dysfunction such as sport injuries, musculoskeletal conditions, postural complications, neurological and pain disorders to psychologically-derived ailments such as stress, anxiety and chronic emotional tension; This background allowed him to develop a typology of bodywork which is both specific/remedial and intuitive/holistic.
Giacomo is currently undertaking a diploma course in Sport and Remedial massage at the Bristol College of Massage and Bodywork. Among his other qualifications he holds a certificate in Facial Acupressure, Complete Manual Therapy and FREC3 First aid.
