Gentle Postural Alignment

January 5, 2017

Balancing the bones of the spine and pelvis, and releasing tension in the surrounding tissues can get to the source of many conditions, back pain being just one of them. Jo Hanstead has spent 30 years working with subtle yet powerful hands-on techniques that help to realign the body. She now uses a combination of these techniques, tailored to suit every patient. Babies, children, pregnant women, sports people, the elderly can all benefit from these gentle techniques. Also an excellent check up for everybody wanting to maintain or improve their health.

I am particularly interested in working with babies, children, and pregnancy, and I welcome a preliminary chat on these or any other query before deciding on treatment for yourself, friend or family.

About Joanna

Having worked in this field for thirty years, I offer a combined treatment approach. All the treatments I practice are gentle, and each session is tailored to the needs of you, the patient. I learned when I was training that our bodies have an innate wisdom, and I am committed to working with bodywork techniques that reflect this philosophy.  Many of my patients are sensitive souls.

Craniosacral therapy is a hands-on technique, which can be said to work on the connective tissue of the body to help release long-term tensions. It is particular know for its effectiveness with babies. craniosacral.co.uk

Spinal Touch is also available – another very gently form of body alignment. ishtaspinaltouch.com

So many people have been told that there is no help available for their back, pain, neck pain etc, but this is rarely the case. We work with the whole skeleton and nervous system, and a very wide range of even chronic dis-ease can be gently and safely treated.

A free spine check can help find the source of your discomfort. Most people find relief after their first treatment. A short course of treatment will help to consolidate changes, and we suggest an annual MOT to maintain balance and health.

I have been in practice since 1987. I used to teach McTimoney chiropractic technique at our college in Abingdon. I now live in Somerset, practicing in Frome and Bath.
